And, through God’s unrelenting kindness alive within me, a shift began. Little by little, I found the courage to surrender what I couldn’t control. And when I did, I discovered it wasn’t someone else’s struggles, the way they treated me, or how it all affected me that was making me dead inside—it was the hiddenness itself. It was the silence, the suppression, the burying of my own voice that had been corroding me from the inside out.
